Public speaking is among the most common phobias, but it doesn’t have to be a terrifying experience and when you pull it off, you’ll score some major social points.
Here are some tips for giving a great speech, given in no particular order.
Brevity is the soul of wit. Keep things as short as possible. People’s attention span will inevitably begin to wander after a few minutes, so don’t waste a lot of time getting to the crux of your topic.
Know your audience. It sounds obvious, but we’ve all seen someone making a speech who hits a flat note trying to be funny with a bad or tasteless joke. Don’t be that guy.
